seems reasonable. Guy's clever for using pennies. Perfect size, cheap, and copper _________________ Not in cruelty,

So far I've taken it all apart and have attached the pennies wrapped in electric tape. I'm letting it dry for a day to stick best as possible. Then the screws will be difficult because they need to be put back in a pretty much precise tightness to make the xbox work.
I'll update tomorrow when I put it all back together on if it works. _________________
So attempt #1 = FAIL. But I retook it apart and found the pennies to be loosened and moved around. So on attempt #2 I'm going to try and let the heat sink dry to the pennies for 24 hours and attempt. This time I'm also not going to make the mistake of putting the casing back on it. Going to leave it on so can easily access the motherboard again if needed. _________________
That video is pointless he did the whole thing and it didn't work so he did a towel trick and said it did... at least from what I saw. _________________
No, I've seen other people do the same process and get working results. The towel trick just polishes it off to make it work again.
There's another way I've heard that works most of the time as well. You remove the X looking components on the mother board and replace their screws with new 1's and washers and it sets back up perfectly. _________________
The RROD is just thinking those chips are overheating constantly. The pennies work as better heatsynks than the "Thermal pads." That's the permanent fix, but to get it to work, you need to do the towel trick
The towel trick just over heats the xbox so much that it thinks that the whole thing is overheating rather than the chips, which resets it. That is dangerous, but easiest way to reset thermometers in xbox. _________________ Not in cruelty,
